The Ruth and David Robertson HOuse

The Ruth and David Robertson House at 10 Broad Street is a historical building estimated to have been constructed around 1852-53. It is a classic example of Georgian-Loyalist architecture, exemplifying in its structure the ideals of symmetry and balance of that style.

The lot originally belonged to William Buell, until it was bought by lawyer George Malloch in 1825. The property was eventually transfered to Malloch’s daughter, Ruth, who married the merchant David Robertson. The house remained in the possession of the Robertsons until 1872, until was by Robert Bowie, and then Martha and James Moore, who would go own owning the house for over 36 years.

The house would go on to change hands - and change vocations. From a residential home it would eventually morph into a bed and breakfast, a Japanese restaurant, and eventually what it is today - a wonderful backdrop for new, exciting dining and food experiences.
